A bit of history: Nadir Metal Rafineri was founded in 1967 by Nadir Tütüncü and initially specialised in the recycling of old gold from the jewellery industry. Nadir has been active in the refining of gold under the name Nadir Metal Rafineri San. ve Tic. Ltd. since 1993. In 1999, Nadir Allgemeine Ind.Trade.Co.Ltd was established through a partnership between Nadir and Degussa Allgemeine, now AGOSI, in which the Nadir family acquired a majority stake.

Since 2006, Nadir has been registered as a joint-stock company, Nadir Metal Rafineri San ve Tic. A. In 2008, Nadir was accredited by the central Turkish gold trading centre, the Istanbul Gold Exchange (Borsa Istanbul). The first international accreditation took place in 2008 at the Dubai Multi-Commodity Centre (DMCC). In 2011, Nadir gold bars were also approved by the London Bullion Market Association (LBMA), the world's most important gold trading centre, in London. A year later, the LBMA also accredited silver.
